About The Role

We are seeking a Software Development Manager to lead our Production Support development team within a growing SaaS VoIP company. Our platform serves small to mid-sized businesses, primarily in the insurance industry, and is relied upon daily for voice services and integrations.

The Production Support team consists of web developers and telephony developers and is responsible for maintaining platform stability, fixing bugs, and delivering smaller features on a biweekly sprint cadence.

This role is primarily focused on people leadership, organization, and execution. The Software Development Manager will ensure the team remains aligned with business priorities while maintaining a strong, collaborative, and customer focused engineering culture. While hands-on development is not required, prior experience as a software developer is a strong advantage and will help in supporting the team effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and plan developer tasks for current and upcoming two-week sprints

• Manage and maintain sprint boards using GitHub Projects

• Assign and balance development resources across competing priorities

• Own issue prioritization.

• Collaboration with leadership, Support, and Sales teams on tradeoffs.

• Push back on incomplete, unclear, or misaligned requests when necessary

• Lead daily standups with the development team to ensure alignment

• Lead weekly meetings with Sales and Support teams to review bugs and priorities

• Assist with and review release notes for biweekly sprint releases

• Review and approve PTO requests for direct reports

• Participate in on call processes as needed and contribute to postmortems when incidents occur

Required Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of experience managing software development teams

• 1 to 2 years of prior experience as a software developer

• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proven ability to work collaboratively across engineering, Sales, and Support teams

• Professional, reliable, and customer focused approach to work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GitHub Projects or similar sprint planning tools

• Experience supporting SaaS platforms in production environments

• Exposure to VoIP, SIP, or Asterisk based systems

• Ability to assist with debugging production issues or review code when needed

• Familiarity with Linux or DevOps concepts

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
