Overview
This tutorial covers the basic functions of the Grandstream GRP2615, including transferring calls, setting up conference calls, and more.
Key Buttons
Voicemail — Upper right, envelope icon. Press to access your personal voicemail. You'll hear an audible prompt for "Password." On first access, the password is the same as your extension number. The first-time setup walks you through recording your unavailable messages and changing your voicemail password.
Directory — Below Voicemail. Shows any contacts you've created. Select New to add a contact.
Hold — Looks like a pause button. Press while on a call to place the caller on hold music; press again to resume. The phone can handle up to 3 calls at a time — 2 on hold and 1 active.
Softkeys — Located along the bottom of the screen and change based on context. When idle, they show History, GenVM, Redial, and Features. The leftmost button acts as Back when navigating menus.
Navigation — Use the arrow buttons below the screen to navigate menus. The center button selects a highlighted item, or opens the menu from the home screen.
Volume (+/-) — To the left of the navigation buttons. Adjusts ringer volume when idle or in-call volume during an active call.
Speakerphone — Press to dial out on speaker, or to switch a handset call over to speaker.
Call History — Green phone icon. Opens a list of recent calls, with options to filter by Received or Missed.
Transfer — For a Cold Transfer, dial Transfer, the extension number, then Transfer again. For a Warm Transfer, dial Transfer, the extension, then # to speak with them first before pressing Transfer again to complete the handoff.
Conference — Dial Conference, the number to add, then Conference again to bring all parties together. Once a conference you started is active, you can hang up and the other two parties will remain connected.
Mute — Press during a call so the other party can't hear you. When the phone is idle, this button toggles Do Not Disturb.
Headset — Toggles headset connectivity on and off.
BLF Buttons (Busy Lamp Field)
Located in the bottom right of the phone, these show coworker status and offer quick functions:
- Park — Press while on a call to place the caller on hold in the next available parking spot. The spot turns red while in use, and anyone in the office can pick it up.
- Second Parking Spot — Used automatically if the first spot is occupied.
- Direct Extension Dialing — The remaining BLF buttons dial directly to other extensions, skipping your own. These can also be used for transferring: press Transfer, then the extension's BLF button, then Transfer again.
