Grandstream GRP2615 Phone Guide

Buttons, transfers, conferencing, and voicemail on the GRP2615

Overview

This guide walks through the core buttons and functions on the Grandstream GRP2615 desk phone, including voicemail, transfers, conferencing, hold, and the BLF buttons used for parking and quick-dial.

Voicemail

The envelope-shaped button in the upper right is your personal voicemail button. The first time you access your mailbox, the default password is the same as your extension number (for example, extension 101 uses password 101). On first access, you'll be walked through setting your unavailable greeting and changing your voicemail password.

Directory

The Directory button shows any contacts you've created. If you don't have any yet, select New from the Directory screen to add one.

Hold

The Hold button (the pause icon) places your active call on hold and plays hold music for the caller. Press it again to resume the call. The phone supports up to 3 calls at once — 2 on hold and 1 active. To return to a call you placed on hold, use the buttons on the left side of the screen.

Bottom Softkeys

The buttons along the bottom of the screen change based on context. When idle, they typically show History, GenVM, Redial, and Features. The leftmost button acts as your back button when navigating menus.

Navigation and Volume

Use the arrow buttons below the screen to navigate menus, and press the center circle button to select a highlighted item or open the menu from the home screen. The plus (+) and minus (-) buttons to the left control ringer volume when idle or ringing, and in-call volume during an active call.

Speakerphone

Press the Speakerphone button while not on a call to get a dial tone and place a call on speaker. While on a handset call, press Speakerphone to switch to speaker mode, and press it again to switch back.

Call History

The green phone icon opens your Call History, showing all recent inbound and outbound calls. Scroll left or right to filter by Received or Missed.

Transferring Calls

The Transfer button (phone pointing to another phone) supports two transfer types:

  • Cold Transfer — dial Transfer, then the extension, then Transfer again. The call goes directly to that extension.
  • Warm Transfer — dial Transfer, then the extension followed by #. This connects you with the receiving party first so you can speak with them before completing the transfer by pressing Transfer again.

Conference Calls

The Conference button (three heads icon) works similarly to Transfer. While on a call, dial Conference, then the number to add, then Conference again to bring all parties together. Adding # after the number lets you speak with the new party privately before merging the call. Once a conference you started is connected, you can hang up and the other two parties will remain connected to each other.

Mute and Do Not Disturb

Press Mute during a call to silence your microphone while still hearing the other party. When the phone is idle (not on a call), the same button toggles Do Not Disturb on and off. If a phone is going straight to voicemail unexpectedly, check whether Do Not Disturb has been enabled.

Headset Button

This button toggles headset connectivity on and off.

BLF Buttons (Busy Lamp Field)

Located in the bottom right of the phone, BLF buttons show real-time status for other extensions and provide quick-dial and call parking functions.

Call Parking

The first BLF button is your Park function. Pressing Park while on a call places the caller on hold with music and assigns them to the next available parking spot, typically the button just below Park. That spot turns red on every phone in the office, and anyone can press it to pick up the call. A second BLF button serves as a backup parking spot if the first is already occupied. Parking is often used as an informal way of transferring a call to whoever picks it up next.

Direct Extension Dialing

The remaining BLF buttons in the lower section are direct dials to other extensions in your office, listed in numerical order and skipping your own extension. For example, if you're on extension 103, the bottom-left button might be 101, followed by 102, 104, 105, and 106 moving across and up. These buttons can also be used for transfers: press Transfer, then the BLF button for that extension, then Transfer again.
